Mrs Marian Coulson-Cave

Growing up in Newcastle, all my education from primary through to teaching, took place here. My first teaching post was at Benfield School where I taught until my own children came on the scene. Whilst they were small I worked for my husband in his advertising company, and dabbled in law for a while. Eventually I found myself covering a maternity leave at Sacred Heart girls school, which led to me to stay there teaching geography for over twenty years. During that time I was offered the opportunity of becoming head of year, and for a time, head of sixth form. This was my favourite time in teaching. The pastoral aspect involved dealing with student and staff problems as well as working with parents.
