Archbishop Runcie CE First School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We have a number of policies and procedures in place that contribute to our safeguarding commitment, including our Child Protection/Safeguarding Policy which can be viewed below and in the Policies section of our website.
Sometimes we may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies when there are concerns about a child’s welfare. We will ensure that our concerns about our pupils are discussed with parents/carers first unless we have reason to believe that such a move would be contrary to the child’s welfare.
We actively support the Government’s Prevent Agenda to counter radicalism and extremism.
At Archbishop Runcie CE First School, we take our role in safeguarding very seriously as we believe all children have the right to feel and be safe.
Mrs Massey is our school’s Designated Safeguarding Lead; Mrs Francis, Mrs Crozier and Mrs Ellwood are Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads. If you have concerns about a child, please contact one of us.
If it is an emergency and a child is in immediate danger, please call the police.
Members of the public can also report concerns to Children’s Social Care directly. If you have a concern about a child please contact one of the following:
