I have included a selection of pictures for you to look at. Some of the pictures have the 'oa' sound in and others do not. Can you sound them out and find out which have the 'oa' sound? Once you have sounded them out, I would like you to have a go at writing the words with the 'oa' sound in them. Please use your purple book to do this, remembering how to form your letters correctly. You can then choose one of the words to use in a sentence, remembering to use finger spaces between each word.

Maths – This week in Maths we are learning about addition and today we are focusing on writing addition number sentences. To get your brain warmed up for maths I would like you to listing to the pirate addition song; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WT_wvvEvkw4.  What words did they use linked to addition? I have included a video for you to watch which shows you how to write a number sentences from your part-whole model. Once you have watched the video please can you have a go at writing the number sentences for each of the maths pictures in your purple book.

Once you have finished your map you will be able to use it to help you retell the story of Zog to your grown-up.

I hope you have a great day. I cannot wait to see your fantastic story map.

Hello Everyone,

Well done for all of your wonderful work so far. I noticed a few of you lesterday found writing the 'igh' sound tricky/ I have included a little video to remind you of the letter rhymes. Can you practise this again in your purple book three times.

 Your home learning tasks for today are;

Warm up – Please write your first name and surname, remembering to form your letters correctly and trying to keep them on the line.

Phonics - Today we are continuing to learn the 'igh' sound. This is a tricky sound because it has three letters that makes one sound. This is called a trigraph. You can watch the video of the ‘igh’ sound again here; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OYCR2RZ4ZYY I have included a story for you to read. Remember you can try to read the red words and the purple words in the story. Once you have read the story I would like you to write the sentence, "The knight got a fright" and "The light is bright." Try carefully to sound out each word, form all of your letters correctly and leave your finger spaces.

Maths – This week in Maths we are learning about addition. To get your brain warmed up for maths I would like you to complete the counting to 20 song; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_MVzXKfr6e8&t=5s

Today we are using the Oak academy lesson – Combining two groups including zero. You can find the lesson here; https://classroom.thenational.academy/lessons/combining-two-groups-including-zero-ccw6ad

For this lesson you will need the set of number cards from 0 to 5 and a part whole model that you used yesterday. You will also need some objects to count such as counters, buttons or Lego.  Grown-ups, Like yesterday, you may need to pause this lesson to complete the activities as well as completing the lesson in small chunks to aid with concentration.

Literacy – Today we are continuing to look at our new key text, Zog by Julia Donaldson. Please listen to the story of Zog again here; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=75aXrJgMVow

With your grown up can you talk about the story. Here are some suggested questions; Why does Zog want a gold star? How can he get one? How does Zog feel when he doesn’t get a gold star? How can he get better at flying? How does the girl help Zog? Why does she decide to help him?

PE - Today I would like you to choose another yoga video to complete for PE; https://www.youtube.com/user/CosmicKidsYoga
